School Photos - Vocabulary Bowl
On December 6, students at Palo Verde competed in the inaugural Vocabulary Bowl. The school has been learning weekly vocabulary words all semester, and the students practice them daily in their homerooms on Nearpod. Then, homerooms chose a student to represent them in the bowl. With student council and staff members cheering them on, the students completed a 50-word Kahoot that tested their knowledge of the words. The top 5 students all received a trophy and some Palo Verde swag. The top 2 students also received Amazon gift cards.  Well done!

Message from Principal

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

I hope that you had a great summer and are ready to learn, grow, challenge yourself, and succeed. I can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces walk through Palo Verde’s doors on August 3rd . Our dedicated staff is working hard to prepare for another amazing school year, building on the success and accomplishments of last year when we earned a letter grade of “B” from the State of Arizona!

As the start of the school year approaches, I hope you are excited and optimistic about what we can accomplish together! I would like to encourage everyone to get as involved as you can – this goes for students, as well as families. Palo Verde has a strong sense of community, and we’d like that tradition to continue. It is my sincere hope that we will work together as a team to provide our Titans the best possible high school experience that will prepare them for the future.

Respectfully,
Eric Brock

What Makes Us Special

Palo Verde High Magnet School’s STEAM programs provide access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. This is done through a variety of classes including, but not limited to, Engineering, Computer Science, Film & TV, Clay, Ceramics, Painting, Drawing, Theatre, Band, Orchestra, Forensics, Biology, and multiple math options. One of the pillars of our STEAM Program is our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program where students can earn industry certification in their area of study. Currently, our CTE Program includes Computer Science, Engineering, Film & TV, Digital Communications, and Sports Medicine.

STEAM education is an approach to teaching and learning that integrates the content and skills of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Along with content knowledge, a strong STEAM program establishes student behaviors, which include engagement in inquiry, logical reasoning, collaboration, and investigation. The goal of STEAM education is to prepare students for post-secondary study and the 21st century workforce.

Consistent with our mission, vision, and values, Palo Verde students continue to grow in skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities, while preparing to compete and succeed in a global economy. The students, staff, families, and community are bound together in a climate where diversity is appreciated. Palo Verde’s STEAM Programming not only increases engagement and motivation, but promotes a growth-mindset, collaboration, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to take risks. Our students are expected to take a positive, active role in their community, where they can be kind, open-minded, and reflective members of society. Our vision is to graduate all students with these skills, so they can be successful on whatever path they choose for their future.

Palo Verde offers dual-enrollment options which means students can earn college credit while attending their classes at PV. We also currently offer Advanced Placement (AP) options.

Outside the classroom, Palo Verde students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities including clubs and sports.
